Sara Hudson is a product of OCPS school district in Orlando, Florida. She later graduated from Florida State University with a BS in Elementary Education. She also received her Master’s in Brain Based Teaching.

Ms. Hudson is a  teacher with 12 years of experience in Orange County Public Schools, who creates a culture of high expectations in her classroom. She has helped her students go beyond reading standards by discussing topics such as immigration, health care and climate change. She creates a welcoming environment with monthly family nights and develops deep relationships with students that last well beyond their time in her classroom. And in her grade-chair role, she pushes teachers to help their students excel, increasing fifth-grade ELA scores to above the district average.

She has facilitated PLCs and now hosts monthly professional development sessions. Sara Hudson was the 2024 Orange County Teacher of the Year. She used this platform to stress the importance of building relationships, setting high expectations for all, and providing students with the education they deserve.
