Meet your ParaReady Reading Coach!
Sara Hudson is a proud product of Orange County Public Schools. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Florida State University and later received her Master’s degree in Brain-Based Teaching.
With 12 years of classroom experience in OCPS, Ms. Hudson is known for cultivating a culture of high expectations and meaningful connections. Her instructional approach goes beyond academic standards—she engages her students in thoughtful discussions on real-world topics such as immigration, health care, and climate change.
Ms. Hudson fosters a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment, hosting monthly family nights and building relationships that endure long after her students leave her classroom. As a grade-chair, she inspires fellow educators to push their students to achieve excellence—evident in her team’s fifth-grade ELA scores, which have exceeded the district average.
She has led Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and currently facilitates monthly professional development sessions for her colleagues.
As the 2024 Orange County Teacher of the Year, Sara has used her platform to champion the power of strong relationships, the importance of high expectations for all learners, and the need to provide every student with the education they deserve.
